NOBILE Rubin with Silver Medal from Mundus Vini Grand International Wine Awards 2020
268 wine experts from 54 countries took part in the six-day tastings of the 26th edition of the world's most prestigious wine competition Mundus Vini in Germany. They tasted and evaluated almost 7,500 wines from around the world. Bulgaria was represented by a small selection of wines, sent by several Bulgarian wine makers.
One of the awarded Bulgarian wines is NOBILE Rubin - Silver Medal. Congratulations to Logodaj Winery for their professionalism and enthusiasm.

RUBIN
Rubin is a local variety created by crossbreeding of Syrah and Nebbiolo. These wines are deep in colour, with thick but harmonious taste and soft finish. Their aroma is intense, fruity, with ripe blackberry domination. In contact with oak the wines from Rubin develop some lovely jam nuances. They have also a very good aging potential.
It was not until the end of 1950s that this grape variety became more popular and was cultivated on a wider scale mainly in the Plovdiv area and later throughout the country. Rubin wines have recently gained considerable popularity on the Bulgarian market and abroad.
THE REGION
South Western Wine Region
This Bulgarian wine region includes the southwestern parts of the country. It is not large in size, but it possesses some specific climatic features which are very similar to the Mediterranean regions. Along the valley of the Struma river unique Bulgarian varietals such as Melnik and Rubin are cultivated for the production of dry and semi-dry wines. Other well-known varietals are also grown in the area. The local wines are characterized by full taste, with spicy southern tones.
