Review from Ed Huijzer, tasted at the Dutch Wine Festivals
It was nicely busy again and sure a successful event. Bulwine participated at the Dutch Wine Festivals in Groesbeek. Many wine lovers who knew us from previous editions came to taste our new wines and vintages again. But we could also reach a lot of new people there. And, of course, the surprise for them was even greater. Everyone discovered something new. The most wanted and appreciated was again one of our top wines Vinica Mavrud BIO /from dried grapes/. Amarone from Bulgaria?! Yes, and also for a very attractive price! Visitors were flocking from all sides to taste the Vinica. Nice! It is striking how quickly the news for a good wine spreads.
Also Ed Huijzer from Wijngekken (Wine Geeks) tasted a number of our wines during the event. He is a certified wine taster and, of course, a great wine lover. See below what he discovered.
"Bulwine - a wine shop specialized in Bulgarian wines. I have the impression that the average consumer often consideres Bulgarian wines as a cheap wine on the lower shelves at the supermarket. But there is more than that and the wines from Bulwine prove it.
Craftsman’s Selection, a striking blend of 75% Chardonnay and 25% Riesling. I've never seen such a blend before, but it's fine. A soft and a bit buttery style, mild with some Riesling acids coming over. I tasted a blend of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon from the same Craftsman’s Selection. A friendly, soft and smooth wine. Furthermore, a glass of Tiara Mavrud, Blanc de Noir from the Mavrud grape. A very light colour, gentle with quite a good body and fruity tones of pear and pineapple. "
